YUHM.ORG is an informal network initiated by hikers from Yangon Universities Hiking and Mountaineering Association (YUHMA). Although the term ‘Yangon’ is used, hikers from other universities and colleges in Myanmar and around the world would not be excluded. H&M associations in Myanmar are in fact one close-knit family. Together, we train hikers and organize trips all over the country, bringing mountains to our feet. So, if you are a hiker of Myanmar, you are most welcome and feel free to join us.
The umbrella organization for all H&M associations in Myanmar is called Myanmar Hiking and Mountaineering Federation, led by Dr. Paing Soe. YUHMA is part of MUHMA both of which are speared headed by U Myo Thant.
Please do know that this is the very first step we have taken forward on the web to form an informal network serving as a virtual bridge for connecting each other among hikers of Myanmar who are in different parts of the country and the world over. We would like to reiterate that this is just an informal network to serve as a virtual bridge between Myanmar hikers who are in the different parts of the country and the world. Hikers, big or small, old or new, will be more connected as ever. After all, hiking is a great symbol of teamwork and we invite all the interested hikers to join us.
